Over 160 Jamaicans have
won million of dollars this year, by catching Match 5 while playing Super
Lotto. Although these players missed the Super Lotto jackpot by only one
number, Jamaicans were still able to take home handsome cash prize winnings for
this subsidiary prize tier in the game.
“The money won has been
well received!” remarked Sonia Davidson, Supreme Ventures’ Vice President of
Group Corporate Communications. “We have heard so many positive stories from a
variety of persons from across the island: their dreams of paying down on their
own home, providing their children with educational opportunities, improving their
business and planning for retirement, were some of the ways people said they
would be investing their winnings. It is so rewarding to see people hopeful
that their future is brighter than they previously imagined. There were a
number of people who were only one number away from winning the Super Lotto
jackpot—one number! if people keep on playing they could win the jackpot next
time around.”
Since the game’s
inception in 2009, Caribbean players have won over $3.9 Billion. These
countries include Jamaica, St. Kitts & Nevis, Anguilla, Antigua, St.
Maarten, the Dominican Republic and Barbados. During
this time, over 500 Jamaicans missed the Super Lotto Jackpot by just one number
but won over $67 Million.
Oshaine
Laylor offered similar comments, “I am taking classes and working at the same
time. Sometimes it’s rough making ends meet, so I’m grateful for even the
smallest payout—trust me it does make a difference.”
The
Super Lotto draw can be viewed every Tuesday and Friday at 8:30pm on TVJ. The
live audio feed is also carried on IRIE FM.
